Sensei Colin Ninvalle
Origins
Wadoka Academy evolved from its founderâs initial mission to harmonize the connection between karate and other arts. Sensei Colin Ninvalle (pictured) started out in 1977 studying Japanese Wado Ryu Karate. âWadoâ literally means âway through peace.â Wado Ryu Karate taught him to win numerous karate tournaments by utilizing ânon aggressiveâ strategies and techniques to defeat his opponents.
But once he delved deeply into other art forms, he made a discovery that provided the foundation for his approach to training himself and others today. He discovered the concept âKaâ buried in the tribal customs of African Zulu warriors. âKaâ literally means âknowledge of everything.â
By uniting the bedrock ideas of âpeaceâ and âknowledgeâ Wadoka karate gained a transformational stature giving students access to a very unique system of development. Wadoka literally means: âway through peace and knowledge.â For this reason, Wadoka Karate stands out from other martial arts systems because it celebrates the studentâs progress in a context that features a perfect alignment of complimentary goals, âmindâ (moral) and âbodyâ (physical).
